1. What you're buying

When you order a song from Custom Melody, you are purchasing a custom music production service and a license to use the resulting song. The song is created using professional lyric writing combined with AI-assisted music production tools under a commercial license.

2. Your license

Basic & Premium packages — Personal Use License: you may play, download, share, and post the song on personal social media, gift it, and use it at private events. You may not sell it, monetize it, or use it to promote a business.

Business package — Commercial Use License: everything above, plus use in advertising, branded content, monetized channels, and business promotion. This license is perpetual and worldwide.

3. About copyright and AI-generated music

We believe in being transparent about how the law currently treats AI-assisted music:

The musical audio is generated with AI tools under a commercial license held by us. Under current U.S. Copyright Office guidance, purely AI-generated audio is generally not eligible for copyright registration.
The lyrics are written by a human based on your story and may be protected by copyright. We assign our rights in the custom lyrics to you upon full payment (Business package) or license them to you for personal use (Basic & Premium).
This means no one — including us — can claim exclusive copyright over the raw audio. In practice, your song is unique and made only for you, and we never resell or reuse it.

4. What we promise

Your song is created from scratch for your order and is never resold, reused, or delivered to another client.
We do not impersonate real artists or use the names, voices, or likenesses of real people.
Included revision rounds are honored as listed in each package.

5. What we ask of you

Don't submit stories or lyrics requests that infringe third-party rights (e.g., copying an existing song's lyrics or melody).
Don't request content that is defamatory, hateful, or unlawful.
Don't present the song as the work of a real, named artist.

6. Payment and refunds

No upfront payment is required. After we confirm your order, you receive a proposal; payment via PayPal is due before final delivery. If we can't deliver a song you're happy with after your included revision rounds, you owe nothing.

These terms are provided for clarity and good faith. They do not constitute legal advice. Copyright treatment of AI-generated works varies by country and may change.
